What is UPSC Cut off score 2018?

UPSC Cut off score is the selection parameter in which minimum level of the score is being decided to limit the no. of applicants for the next level of selection. Candidates who obtain cutoff marks i.e  lowest level of score they qualify for the next level of UPSC exam.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases cutoff for each level ; prelims, mains and Interview. One overall  cutoff is also declared by the UPSC after the completion of exam . UPSC Cut off for Prelims 2018

UPSC Civil Services Cut off Marks are never same for every year as these are decided after analysis of several factors such as difficulty level of the paper, number appeared candidates, total  vacancies etc. So, UPSC cut off will vary. As we know that UPSC civil services prelims is meant for screening only so first round of cut off starts from here only.

Every year a large no of candidates get failed to score cut off to become  qualified to appear in mains though the number of candidates who are selected for the  mains examination is always more than 10 times in compare to the total approximate vacancies to be filed.

A candidate must aim to score minimum 33 % marks in each paper of prelims. For GS-2, 33% of marks are minimum criteria.

UPSC Mains Cut off 2018

Candidates who obtain minimum cut off marks in the written part of the mains examination fixed by the commission at their discretion shall be called for an interview for personality test.

The number of candidates who will be called for interview will be almost double of the number of vacancies to be filled. The interview will carry 275 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks)

UPSC Final cut off 2018

Marks obtained by candidates in the UPSC civil services 2018 mains examination (written part as well as interview) would determine final ranking of candidates. The allotment of various services and administrative post will be done strictly as per the ranks of candidates and preferences selected by them.

UPSC Expected cut off 2018

The cut off score of UPSC civil services 2018 preliminary exam will be released after the preliminary examination. This will be assessed by analyzing factors which affect cut off.We will also announce expected cut off after 03 June,2018.
