(A) EXAM CENTRES FOR UPSC PRELIMS:

The UPSC Preliminary Examination 2017 will be held at 72 centres but centres will be allotted on first come-first serve basis by the UPSC. There will be an upper limit for the no. of the candidates for each centre and allotment of the centre to the candidates will be frozen once its capacity is attained.

(B) STAGES OF UPSC EXAM:

The Civil Service Examination will be conducted in three successive stages.


UPSC Stage-1:

Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination for the selection of candidates for (Main) Examination. Exam Pattern will be objective type only.


 UPSC Stage-2:

Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written followed by Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Services ,Indian Foreign Services and other civil services.

Right now applications are invited for the Preliminary Examination 2017 only. After qualifying for admission to the  (Main) Examination you will have to apply again for the centre. The Online Detailed Application Form for the Main Examination would be made available on the Website of the Commission after the declaration of Results of Preliminary Examination.


UPSC Stage-3:

Interview is final stage of selection. This stage is actually to judge overall personality of candidate.


Note:

The IFS Main Examination may be held in December 2017 at the following Centres: Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Port Blair, and Shimla. IAS Main Examination will be held in October.
